Since the last real news update has been quite a while ago, a new one!
As most of you know, we've been venturing into the realm of Call of Duty 4. Starting out as noobies, we got our asses handed to us quite often, but I'm glad to say that we ARE making good progress on the way to mid-skilled-ness.
Partly because of my leet tactics ofcourse, but mostly due to the dedicated members who invest a lot of time in practicing and learning, either by playing, training or just reading said tactics ;)
Yesterday we played 22ndSAS, a clan we've played a few friendlies against before, and who were then roughly the same skill as us. (Apart from the time they fielded their 1st team, who are still a bit better :P) We played our 2 best maps (IMO): Strike & Vacant, and, while they played Vacant mostly with 4 players, the scores were 18-2 & 19-1 for us. Improvement I say! Even though we feel bad a bit for the friendly chaps...
This is not a sign that we can take it easy though! We've still got a bunch of things to improve upon:
- Consistently good nading
- More teamwork
- Reading the radar
- Prone-diving
- Being patient
- Getting good on all other maps besides Strike & Vacant :P
But I have no doubt we'll get better, and with the new CB CoD4 cup coming up, we have a chance to prove we can win more than 1 match in the second to last division ;) |

A project a colleague and me have been working on for several months is now in beta.
It's a tool called "URD", and it makes downloading from usenet (news servers) as easy as using eMule. The only tricky thing is installing it, but for anyone with basic linux knowledge it shouldn't be a problem.
URD is a website that you install on your own webserver. After installation, URD will monitor the newsgroups that you specified, and will group files that belong together (e.g. a single movie or album). You can use the website to select the files you want to download, and URD will take care of the rest (i.e. Par2repair, unrar). When the download is done, you will have your movie/album/whatever waiting for you on your server.
